Marilyn's Thyroidectomy Day 2 - November 13

My wife finally arrived in our room around 8:30 PM last night. She had a big bulky bandage on her neck.

This morning (Nov 13) she ate some solids already but shifted back to soft diet after the dressing was replaced on her neck. A little rest, and she went back on solid food. She has difficulty swallowing though and when she coughs, which is due to the tubes put in her mouth during the procedure, it is also very painful. But the doctors said that it will be painful during the first 24 hours then the pain will gradually decrease afterwards.

Late afternoon, the nurses put a heploc and removed the IV fluids.

On a lighter note, the food here is great! I liked the lemon butter fish fillet they served for lunch as well as the banana cashew desert last night. The nurses and doctors are kind. The general atmosphere from the hospital staff was warm.

The night was capped by a pleasant visit from ladies from Asian Baptist Clearinghouse.
